Terran Marks | Home in the Hills | 2024 | Acrylic on canvas
An old house with a red door sits back in the hills with a winding road leading to it. Vibrant pink, orange, red, and maroon trees create the upper bound of the painting. Textured, almost patchwork hills in a range of greens create the lower bound.
The palette for this painting is a little more “true to life” than some of my other work. The grass is green. The trees are colors you can see in the fall.
The sky is bright yellow, but we’ve had some yellow skies here in southern Indiana before.
My goal for this painting was to portray a peaceful scene that the viewer wants to walk into.
